Claudia’s first book is meant to inspire the more adventuresome quilters among you, to take the leap from traditional quiltmaking and use of color to a more innovative direction, having fun all the way! The five galleries of award-winning quilts designed by Claudia are the basis for the 16 paper-pieced projects included in the book.

"Greensleeves", now showing at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky won Best Longarm Quilting (a purchase award) at the 2009 AQS Quilt Show. This Sherwood Forest quilt designed, pieced and machine appliqued by Claudia uses mostly dupioni silk. The outstanding quilting of her own original medieval designs in metallic gold thread was executed by Marilyn Badger of St George, Utah. The Mariners Compass from this quilt is included in a project in Claudia’s book and is also the central design in a wallhanging from 2 Much Fun! (see link to Quilter’s Warehouse). “Greensleeves” can also be seen in the 2010 IQA monthly calendar.

"Awesome Blossoms" has now won three Best of Shows at National quilting shows - Quilter’s Heritage Celebration, Lancaster, PA 2008; Pacific International Quilt Festival, Santa Clara, CA 2008; and most recently, Quilt Odyssey in Hershey, PA 2009. It also won an Honorable Mention at the 2008 AQS Quilt Show in Paducah, KY; 1st Place Innovative Quilting at the 2008 Machine Quilter’s Showcase, Overland Park; KS and 1st Place in the Master’s Blue Diamond category at the Minnesota Quilter’s Show in 2009.
